KRYSTEL ARACO AND DOMENIC ZAPPIALe Montage Bayside Events, LilyfieldTHE MEETINGKrystel was 16 when she was introduced to Domenic through their parents. Although the two became close over the years, Krystel continued to unsuccessfully set Domenic up with her friends. When the pair reached 19, Domenic (now 26) poured his heart out to Krystel (who's also 26) and they became an item. "It was hard for Domenic to confess he liked me after all the history we had," Krystel says.THE PROPOSALAfter seven years of dating, Domenic proposed on an early Christmas morning while the couple were opening presents. "Domenic went down on one knee and handed me my Christmas card, which read: 'Will you marry me?' and opened the ring box," Krystel says. "It was the best Christmas present I ever received."THE BIG DAYThe couple opted for a clean, modern theme featuring crystal centrepieces to complement their traditional Italian wedding. They were married in front of 500 guests. "My highlight was seeing my beautiful bride walking towards me; she just looked like an angel," Domenic says.THE DRESSA white raw-silk gown with an extra-long train by JoJo at Arushie Bridal Couture. It was detailed with Swarovski Crystal beads and blue velvet flowers.THE CAKEA five-tier vanilla and chocolate marble cake by family friend Maria Giglio. It was decorated with handmade flowers.
