Despite being on cloud nine after winning the ultimate wedding prize package at Sunday's The Illawarra Mercury Bridal Expo, Kellie Honey did not let the practicalities of her windfall escape her.
After breaking the big news to her fiance of two years, Adam Large, Miss Honey set about fixing a date for the Woonona couple's wedding day.
"So far we've narrowed it down to some time next February," she said.
"We think we'll go for a garden wedding.
Miss Honey said Mr Large had not quite fainted at news of the win, but he had been "pretty stunned".
"When I told my mum about it she just started screaming.
"Then when she stopped that she started ringing everyone she could think of with the good news," Miss Honey laughed.
The winner's $14,000 prize package includes a $5000 reception at the Illawarra Turf Club and a honeymoon on beautiful Daydream Island, flying Ansett Australia, a Barrier Reef cruise with FantaSea Cruises, and a $1500 designer bridal gown from Jenser Australia.
Miss Honey said financially a wedding had been out of the question before winning the Bridal Expo competition.
"Adam said if we wanted to get married we'd better win the competition," she said.
"All my family and my mates at work at Franklins helped me by filling out entry coupons in my name.
"In the end I had 202 entries in the barrel and I guess it paid off!"
